I. Condition of the hosting place

■Wuxi：A city of gentle warmth and water.

Wuxi is a famous historical city in south region of Yangtze River, located on the shore of Taihu Lake between Shanghai and Hangzhou, a place with attractive natural scene and aggregation of human life. It is an excellent tourist city of China. It is known as the quay of cloth, the quay of money, the capital of silk, and the city of rice. Wuxi is the cradle of Chinese national industry and township industry, and the birthplace of the southern Jiangsu model. 'The best place of Taihu Lake, could be found nowhere but Turtle Head Isle' by poet Guo Moruo describes the scenery of Wuxi Taihu Lake.

■Wuxi No.2 Hospital

Founded in 1908 as, an Episcopal hospital---Puren Hospital, Wuxi No.2 Hospital is one of the few hospitals with centurial history in Jiangsu Province. It is the only hospital that won IHF International Award and Asian Hospital Management Award Special Award. It is a Tertiary A general hospital, and accredited by JCI in 2015 before got 6-level accreditation of HIMSS EMRAM as the first accredited hospital in Jiangsu and the 22^nd in China Mainland.

Wuxi No.2 Hospital and Wuxi No.5 Hospital established Wuxi Puren Medical Group in 2016, adopting a group management mode under the leadership of the Board. The hospital features 16 provincial key clinical department and 6 municipal key department, ranking among the first in Wuxi.

The hospital lead the refined hospital management across China, wining 2015 IHF International Award and 8 AHMA during 2013-2017. It won 3 Chinese Medical Science and Technology Prizes respectively in 2009, 2013 and 2017, along with 3 Chinese Hospital Association Hospital Science and Technology Innovation Awards respectively in 2011, 2013, and 2015. There are also 4 Tengfei Prize which is the highest award for science and technology granted by Wuxi Municipal Government.

The conference is planned to be hosted by HMA with Wuxi No.2 Hospital as undertaker， Jiangsu Province Hospital Association as co-sponsor, and Chinese Hospital Association as support guide.

II. Background

According to data released by Commission of Health and Family Planning, at year-end of 2016, there were 29140 hospitals in China, of which 12708 were public and 16432 were private.

3. China Solution to improve capability of grass-root healthcare service, people can receive quality medical service in community. At year-end of 2016, there were 11.173 million health workers in China, 479000 increase (4.5%) compared with those of previous year. Per 1000 population shares 2.31 licensed doctors and 2.54 registered nurses, 0.09 and 0.17 increase respectively compared with those of previous year.

4. China holds high the banner of public good. At year-end of 2017, all public hospitals in China cancelled additional profit of medication, which reduced burden of patients and changed operating mode of hospitals.

5. Medical market in China is enormous. Some provinces have preferential policies to entry of foreign medical technology and medicines and foreign invested hospitals. More and more foreign hospitals look for cooperation with traditional Chinese medicine. At year of 2015, there are over 200 foreign invested and joint venture hospitals in China. This trend will continue.

3、提升基层医疗卫生服务能力的“中国方案”。中国政府打出了多套“组合拳”，让老百姓在家门口就能得到优质的健康服务。在医疗资源分配方面，2016年末，中国卫生人员总数达1117.3万人，比上年增加47.9万人，增长4.5%。每千人口执业（助理）医师2.31人、注册护士2.54人，分别比去年增加0.09人和0.17人。

4、让医疗回归“医学本质”，中国高举“公益性”大旗。2017年年底，中国在全部公立医院取消“药品加成”政策，让老百姓得到实惠，促进了医院运行模式的改变。

5、中国医疗成为全新发展市场。中国医疗市场巨大、部分省份开设医疗先行区，对国外技术和药品准入、外资建设医院等放宽政策。越来越多的国外医院寻求中国传统中医药方面的合作。2015年，中国的外资与合资医疗机构已经超过200家，并且还将继续开放。
